ABOUT

Jessica is a teaching-artist based in Queens, NY.

She describes her work as, “ a quiet quest to find home within internal and external landscapes of time, memory and space.”

Much of Jessica’s work revolves around two main themes: ceramics’ connection to the natural elements and the quiet quest to find home.  “I explore the polarities of the clay at the same time as I explore the polarities of the home, which I strive to find inside myself and out in the world.”

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and an MFA from the University of New Mexico.  She has taught art to students of all ages and backgrounds and is currently on the faculty of Trevor Day School in Manhattan, NY.

on circuitous nimbus cuppola:

"...a thoroughly enchanting work, all the more so for its unorthodox mix of prosaic materials and Peter Sarkisianesque use of avant-garde technology."
